A Blooming Family Tradition

It all began in 1960 with Piet van Gerven, the father of Gerard, Henk and Peter van Gerven. Driven by his love for flowers and working with nature, Piet started growing flowers on a small scale in the heart of the Dutch Bulb Region. With care and dedication, he cultivated his flowers and sold them at the flower market in Haarlem, building a reputation for quality, passion and craftsmanship.

As demand grew, the next generation joined the business. Around 1980, Piet’s sons Henk and Gerard van Gerven continued and expanded the family company, focusing more on flower bulb cultivation and laying the foundation for Gerven Bulbs.

From the beginning, the van Gerven family stood for quality, passion and craftsmanship, growing strong and healthy flower bulbs season after season.

As times changed, so did the market. With the growing demand for flower bulbs directly from the grower, the idea emerged to continue this family tradition online. This led to the founding of Gerven Bulbs, a modern webshop that today serves customers across Europe and the United Kingdom.

Today, Gerven Bulbs proudly carries forward the family legacy. The roots Piet planted still guide everything we do. With the same dedication that started generations ago, we continue to share our love for gardening and help gardens flourish — season after season.
