Tulipa

The native range of the tulip ( Tulipa ) is not in southeastern China, but rather in Central Asia, with a particular concentration in countries such as Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia and Kazakhstan. This area is known for its varied topography, including many mountainous regions such as the Ala Tau Mountains, which extend into China where it is known as the Tien Shan Mountains.
