The Amaryllis can also be planted in June and grown indoors during summer. While it is traditionally planted for winter blooms, a summer planting can still produce healthy growth and beautiful flowers later in the season.

Plant the bulb in a pot with drainage holes using well-draining compost. Leave the neck of the bulb above the soil surface and water lightly after planting.

Place the pot in a warm, bright location with indirect sunlight. Water whenever the soil feels dry, but avoid keeping the soil too wet.

During summer growth, feed the plant every few weeks with a balanced liquid fertilizer to encourage strong leaves and flower development.

With warm temperatures and proper care, the bulb may flower in late summer or early autumn.
