On average, we allocate approximately €0.10 to €0.30 per order, depending on shipment weight and destination. Each order placed with Gerven Bulbs contributes to this broader climate-focused effort.

The Shopify Sustainability Fund supports a diverse range of carbon removal solutions, from nature-based restoration to advanced technologies such as direct air capture and mineralization. These projects are independently assessed and selected based on their long-term climate impact.

The broader portfolio has included partners such as Climeworks, Heirloom Carbon, and Grassroots Carbon, alongside other emerging innovators in the carbon removal space.

A Portfolio Example: Direct Air Capture

As an example of the type of high-impact projects included within the broader Shopify portfolio, Climeworks develops direct air capture and storage (DAC+S) technology. Their approach removes carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere and stores it in durable geological formations.
